SUMMARY REMARKS & TESTBEDS
STONESHIELD has developed an Augmented Reality (AR) application prototype for training-on-the-job and assist maintenance operations of its robotic machines. It provides step-by-step digital work instructions for the successful configuration and maintenance of machines. Thanks to smart glasses, the maintenance technicians keep booth hands free to carry on the manual work based on step-by-step digital instructions. User’s quality of experience (QoE) is critical to the success of immersive AR applications which is highly dependent on stringent latency and reliability conditions of the wireless network available in the industrial environment.
In this context, this Fed4FIRE experiment intends to test wireless connectivity solutions (WiFi and LTE-A) to support an AR application for remote training and more effective maintenance operations of machines produced by STONESHIELD and installed in factories from a broad range of international clients.
