SUMMARY REMARKS & TESTBEDS

During the IoTaaS, we will experiment with virtualization aspects on IoT devices; this will provide higher energy efficiency for the network while allowing different applications to be executed over the same equipment. Through the exploitation of micro-services for IoT applications, we propose to virtualize IoT gateways based on different hardware architectures. We will experiment with modern micro-service orchestration frameworks, that are ideally suited for IoT networks.

During the first stage of the experiment, we will benchmark such frameworks, and examine multi-tenancy aspects, while during the second stage we will delve into low-level profiling of the framework for the optimal use of the hardware, and support other hardware targets.
