SUMMARY REMARKS & TESTBEDS

In MECinFIRE, we blend the novel disaggregated and heterogeneous base station architecture with the Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) concept, and propose to develop and experiment with the deployment of the edge computing services even closer to the network edge. We target the development of a software prototype that allows services to be executed close or over the machines hosting the radio access services for the network access. We plan to evaluate our solution in a real testbed environment, and collect extended datasets of measurements related to end-to-end user to service latency.
