As a member of the ITU-T standards developing organisation (SDO) and partner of the Fed4FIRE+ project, Mandat International is currently active in the edition of the draft Recommendation ITU-T Q.API4TB “Open APIs for interoperable testbed federations.” This draft Recommendation is being elaborated in collaboration with ITU-T SG11 and ETSI TC INT through regular virtual joint meetings. A final version is expected to be approved in the second half of 2021.
The current version of the draft Recommendation proposes a generic reference model for testbed federation, improving the interoperability among the different testbeds used in the ICT domain. The draft Recommendation also presents the APIs already used by GENI and Fed4FIRE+, illustrating how to concretely instantiate the generic reference model in real testbed federations. Indeed, these open APIs ensure the federation and the interconnection of all testbeds in each respective testbed federation, providing useful and valuable online services to the experimenter of the ICT research community.
